Refund Policy

Zeiter Wills & POA
Effective Date: January 2, 2026

1. General Policy on Fees
 

Zeiter Wills & POA charges fees that are reasonable under the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct. Clients are responsible only for legal fees and costs actually earned or incurred.
 

2. Advance Fees and Retainers
 

• Any advance fee or retainer paid by a client is considered unearned when received unless otherwise expressly stated in a written fee agreement.

• Advance fees are deposited into the firm’s client trust account and are withdrawn only as fees are earned or costs incurred.
   

3. Flat Fees
 

• Flat fees are permitted under Pennsylvania law but remain refundable to the extent they are unearned, unless otherwise allowed by the Rules of Professional Conduct and clearly explained in a written fee agreement.

• The firm will determine the earned portion of a flat fee based on the work completed at the time representation ends.
   

4. Costs and Expenses
 

• Filing fees, court costs, third-party service fees, and other out-of-pocket expenses incurred on a client’s behalf are non-refundable once incurred.

• Any unused advance for costs will be refunded.
   

5. Termination of Representation
 

• Clients may terminate representation at any time, subject to applicable law and court rules.

• The firm may withdraw from representation as permitted by the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.

• Upon termination, the firm will provide a final invoice and refund any unearned fees.
   

6. Disputes Over Fees
 

• If a client disputes a fee, Zeiter Wills & POA encourages prompt communication to resolve the issue.

• Clients may have the right to seek fee dispute resolution through appropriate bar-sponsored or court-approved programs.
   

7. No “Non-Refundable” Fees
 

• Except as expressly permitted by Pennsylvania law and ethics rules, the firm does not charge non-refundable fees for legal services.
